Specialised Consulting

Cold Case Review was officially formed in 2019 and has already worked on a number of cases in Australia and around the world. We accept cases from Law Enforcement Organisations (LEOs), as well as families of missing and murdered individuals. We offer expert review of cold cases around the world. The group is run by Brendan Chapman & Dr David Keatley. We provide confidential services and reviews of cases.

Alongside the expertise of Brendan and David, we also have a team of 30 assistants that are able to help with case review (depending on the sensitivity of the case. Clients are asked about whether they want the team to become involved). To date, our team has been involved in several cases, offering reviews and feedback. If you would like to discuss a case with us, please use the contact page on this website and/or email: coldcasereview@murdoch.edu.au

Cold Case Review Services

Introductory Consultation

If you would like the CCR team to review your case, then please contact coldcasereview(at)murdoch.edu.au. Brendan and Dave will receive the email and provide an initial assessment about whether the team can provide further assistance. We will then contact you personally to discuss what help we may be able to provide (and whether the extended team can be involved).

Full Case Review

Once CCR have agreed to take the case, we then begin a full criminological and forensic assessment of the case. The team consists of researchers in the field of applied criminology, forensic psychology, and forensic science. Depending on the size of the case, and information available reviews can take between a  few weeks and a few months; a timeline will be provided on initial consultation. If required, we will also contact other experts in the field to assist with profiling and investigative leads.

Training

Brendan and Dave have a combined teaching experience of over 15 years in the fields of Forensic Psychology, Criminology, and Crime Science. We have taught students at Undergraduate and Postgraduate/Doctoral levels. We have also provided workshops and seminars to Law Enforcement groups around the world. If you would like us to provide training for you/your team, then please get in touch.
